You're probably thinking, "Jasmin, what is that?" Well I'll tell you:
What is Vocal Health First Aid?
An understanding of vocal health and the factors that can affect vocal wellbeing.
Practical skills to spot the signs of a range of vocal dysfunction and imbalance.
Knowledge to help someone towards recovery by:
Guiding them in self-management, or
Passing them on to further support, whether that is specialist vocal rehabilitation coaching or clinical treatment
An understanding of how to prevent vocal health issues from occurring in the workplace. (https://vocalhealth.co.uk/vocal-health-first-aid/ )
So as a Vocal health First Aider, I am the first person you come to if you are having problems with your voice. I now have the knowledge and the skills to guide you into finding the best solution. So if you've been feeling a bit concerned about your voice, get in touch and we can have an assessment (which is free!) to workout the next steps!
Remember,
Vocal Health is Biopsychosocial meaning that anything can affect it and symptoms may not make sense to you straight away because there's so much going on. Make sure you get in touch with a professional with a qualification such as VHFA to get to the root at the problem before it gets worse. Listen to your body and get it checked out!
Look after yourself and be kind, always!
